The Microsoft Store is up to its same old tricks. The store page has a new listing for Immortals: Fenyx Rising, the Ubisoft game formerly known as Gods and Monsters, and the store has listed a release date for December 3.
The Microsoft Store listing for Immortals: Fenyx Rising went live just yesterday, sporting the new release date of December 3 (as first spotted by @Wario64 on Twitter). The game is set for a cross-gen release, and the sore listing reveals that it'll support Smart Delivery for the Xbox Series X, so everyone that purchases it on Microsoft's current console gets a next-gen upgrade for free.
"Play as Fenyx, on a quest to save the Greek gods from a dark curse," the product description read on the since-deleted Microsoft Store listing. "Wield the powers of the gods to battle powerful mythological beasts in the air or on the ground, and solve ancient puzzles. The fate of the world is at stake–you are the gods' last hope."
You might recall Immortals: Fenyx Rising being originally revealed at Ubisoft's E3 2019 presentation. A brand new IP from Ubisoft, the project was renamed earlier this month to Immortals: Fenyx Rising, and will be part of Ubisoft's Forward showcase next week on September 10.
We can certainly hope that Ubisoft adequately addresses the multitude of departures and sexual harassment allegations that plagued the company earlier this Summer. Ubisoft's last Forward showcase in July didn't address any allegations made against the company (due to the presentation being pre-recorded, Ubisoft claimed), but here's hoping CEO Yves Guillemot has an update on the "profound changes" that he promised in July, in the wake of multiple Ubisoft corporate and creative leaders being either let go or stepping away in the wake of harassment or sexual abuse allegations.
Whether the leaked release date is accurate or not, Immortals Fenyx Rising will launch on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia. Perhaps the release date reveal could be what Ubisoft has planned for the Forward showcase next week.
