You Can Hear the Original Victory Theme in Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Does this mean the victory theme is a tune in the game world?

The Final Fantasy 7 Remake demo is out now on PS4, just in case you hadn't already heard. Loads of neat new details are being uncovered as more and more players finally get their hands on Square Enix's remake, including Barret humming one pretty recognizable song.

This tune is, of course, the victory theme from the original Final Fantasy 7. It's the fairly iconic (at least in some circles) tune that would play out briefly whenever you won a battle in the original 1997 game, which I only just played for the first time last year. Even after 22 years it's still a load of fun.

Aside from the little victory theme hum by Barret, players have spotted other hidden details in the new PS4 demo. According to the post below, it seems as though Cloud's eyes will glow a similar color to the Mako Reactor energy when you're in a particularly dark spot in the demo.

This has been contested in the replies to the post above, however. I might have to delve into the demo for the fifth or sixth time to check this out for myself. It definitely would be a nice detail to find within the Mako Reactor itself, when Barret remarks that he can "practically taste the Mako in here."

There's now little over a month to go until Final Fantasy 7 Remake finally releases on April 10, 2020. Well, part one of Square Enix's ambitious remake at least, which the developer/publisher could probably have been a little clearer on. Additionally, we now have a good idea about where the first part of the remake ends, thanks to recent comments by one of the remake's co-directors.
