Injustice 2 Launch Trailer Kicks Off the Superhero Slugfest

The launch trailer for Injustice 2 teases the game's villain, but shows off the game's action.

Brainiac is at it again in the new launch trailer for Injustice 2, which comes out tomorrow. While seeing the classic Superman villain try his hand at world domination again is nothing new, the trailer does show off one of Injustice 2's most exciting feature: character customization.

Injustice 2 - All Characters, Release Date, Modes, UPDATE: New Trailer and DLC Revealed - Everything we Know

Injustice 2's new launch trailer gives a brief teaser of the game's story, which takes place in an alternate DC universe where Superman turns evil, lots of main characters die, and things are pretty grim and depressing overall. Gameplay-wise, Injustice 2 introduces customization options which will let players personalize the DC fighters with different fighting styles, costumes, and weapons.

You can see some of the customization options in the trailer when it cycles through the different Batman costumes (like robo-Batman) or different Harley Quinn outfits she can wear in the game. The outfits in Injustice 2 also adapts to the player's specific style, creating a specific version of the character that suits your needs, whether you're a heavy-hitter or a dextrous speedster.

Injustice 2 is the sequel to NetherRealm Studio's first DC fighting game which gives the Mortal Kombat treatment (that NetherRealm Studios rebooted) to the DC universe. Injustice 2 turns DC's best heroes and villains into brutal fighters, with their own destructive finishing moves. However, the game remains solidly Rated-T which makes for somewhat awkward results (characters aren't killed so much as they are "defeated). Still, NetherRealm Studios has crafted a popular fighting game in its own right, and they've designed some fantastic special moves for DC's roster of characters like the Flash punching his opponent through time.
