FIFA is the latest entry into the FIFA football franchise. And with each year, EA seems locked in on pushing the limits of the new engine on current consoles, with FIFA 20 looking the best the series has looked yet. But with this push in fidelity, what does it mean for the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 20. In this FIFA 20 Nintendo Switch Guide, we’ll be outlining whether or not FIFA 20 is planned for release on Nintendo Switch, and if so, detail in what kind of form. We’ll look at the features that have been confirmed, and also take a look at some of the differences that might crop up.
FIFA 20 Nintendo Switch
Let’s start off by getting things straight, FIFA 20 is coming to Nintendo Switch on September 27. Now, what is important to point out is that the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 20 is not the same as on PS4, Xbox One and PC. We’ll explain this later on in the article.
FIFA 20 For Nintendo Switch Will be a ‘Legacy Edition’
EA has described the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 20 as a Legacy Version. This is the label that it also used to distinguish between the PS4 and PS3 versions of games like FIFA 17. It essentially means that while Nintendo Switch players will indeed be getting a new game, with updated player lists, kits and more, they won’t be getting a lot of the new features that come with the other versions.
What Are the Differences in FIFA 20 For Nintendo Switch
So EA is pushing the Nintendo Switch version of FIFA 20 as a Legacy Edition, but what does that mean for features. Well, thanks to our sister site Eurogamer, and Staff Writer Chris Tapsell, we have some comments from FIFA 20 executive producer Aaron McHardy.
You're gonna get a fresh new look in Switch, with kits and player lists and all of that," McHardy said, when asked what the Switch's Legacy version of the game would entail. "But you're not going to be getting Volta or any of the big new features.
Other than that description, we don’t have any specifics on which features will be missing from FIFA 20 on Nintendo Switch. We’ll be sure to update this page once we’ve got our hands on the game however.
