Is There a Toy Story 4 Video Game?

If you're wondering whether there's a video game of Toy Story 4, or the best games to play after you've seen the new movie, look no further than this guide.

Toy Story 4 has now released in cinemas, and this time Woody and Buzz are joined not only by returning characters from decades ago like Bo Peep, but also brand new characters from actors like Keanu Reeves and Jordan Peele. But if you're wondering whether there's a direct Toy Story 4 video game that you can pick up after seeing the new movie, then this guide has got you covered.

Is There a Toy Story 4 Video Game?

The simple answer to this question is no, there isn't a corresponding video game directly tying in with Toy Story 4. Whereas there was a tie-in Toy Story 3 game for the Xbox 360 back when the third film in the series released in 2010, this isn't the case for Toy Story 4. However there are actually some games you might want to consider picking up if you enjoyed Toy Story 4. We'll list out the games below, all of which involve Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the toys in some capacity.

Toy Story 3

Well, if you haven't already played the last Toy Story video game, why not go back to the 2010 release? Although the game did release on Xbox 360, it's one of the hundreds of titles that Microsoft has made compatible with the Xbox One. So if you pick up either a physical copy of Toy Story 3, or purchase it directly on your Xbox One, you'll be able to play it on Microsoft's current console.

Kingdom Hearts 3

You might not think it from glancing at the game, but Woody, Buzz, and other characters from Toy Story actually make a significant appearance in Kingdom Hearts 3, which launched earlier this year on PS4 and Xbox One. There's an entire level dedicated to Andy's bedroom from earlier Toy Story movies, where you'll be adventuring alongside Woody and other characters as you explore the room (which is actually a lot bigger than it sounds, when you're playing from the perspective of a toy).

For all the details you need to know about this specific level in Kingdom Hearts 3, you can head over to our Kingdom Hearts 3 Toy Box guide, which gives you a complete look at the level that takes place within the world of Toy Story.

Lego Incredibles 2

It might feature the Incredibles on the title, but this Lego game actually features more Disney characters than just the superhero family. Aside from having small guest appearances by Merida from Brave and Flik from A Bug's Life, Lego Incredibles actually lets you play as Woody from Toy Story. He hasn't exactly got a starring role in the game however, he's merely an optional side character that you can unlock to play as if you dedicate enough time to the game.
