Jeff Goldblum will reprise his 1993 Jurassic Park role of Dr. Ian Malcolm for the upcoming sim game, Jurassic World Evolution. The actor even announced his involvement with the game in a very, Goldblum-esque video trailer.
Jurassic World Evolution is being developed by Frontier Developments, the same studio that brought you Elite: Dangerous and Planet Coaster. The game, which was announced in August 2017, is expected to ship simultaneously for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Players will take control of the Isla Nublar and other neighboring islands in the Muertes Archipelago and try to build their own Jurassic World theme park, starting with bioengineering new kinds of dinosaurs, and then making sure they don't escape and murder everyone. A pretty tough ask considering the track record of these theme parks.
The parks will include more than just viewing stations for new dinosaurs as they will also feature rides and research facilities where players will presumably study and unlock new dinosaur breeds.
Jurassic World Evolution will launch this summer, close to the release of the next film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom starring Chris Pratt and BRyce Dallas Howard. Jeff Goldblum is the only actor confirmed for both the game and the upcoming film. There is also an upcoming AR game called Jurassic World Alive, which is basicall Pokemon Go but with dinosaurs.
