Kingdom Hearts 3 Leaks Six Weeks Ahead of Launch

Square Enix acknowledges Kingdom Hearts 3 leak, warns fans to avoid spoilers.

Multiple copies of Kingdom Hearts 3 have been leaked and are making the rounds online, forcing Square Enix and Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura to issue a statement warning fans to avoid spoilers for the game. Nomura also assured fans that the most secret parts of the game, the epilogue and final movie, are set to release at a later date.

Facebook user Broderick Jackson began posting videos of leaked Kingdom Hearts 3 gameplay as proof that he had copies of Square Enix's upcoming RPG and began asking interested buyers $100 if they wanted a copy themselves. It's unclear if Jackson sold any copies, or how many he had in the first place.

On Sunday morning Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura penned a message on Twitter through the official Kingdom Hearts 3 account. "The whole team has been working together since yesterday night (Japan time) to investigate what we can do to better this situation, but first we would like to ask that you do not share these videos," Nomura asks.

"The game's epilogue and secret movie, which are the biggest spoilers in this game, are planned to be released at a later date just in case, so they will not be shown before the game's release," Nomura adds assuring fans that there is more to Kingdom Hearts 3 than what has already been leaked.

It's not clear how this situation unfolded, but video game leaks tend to happen as review copies and retail copies begin making their way out. No word however on how copies of Kingdom Hearts 3 managed to find their way out over a month before release. Not even Super Smash Bros. Ultimate leaked this early out.

According to voice actor Quinton Flynn who voices Axel in the Kingdom Hearts series, "they captured the guy responsible."
