Animal Crossing: New Horizons' balloons are a great source of surprise gifts to adorn the island with, or sometimes just more eggs. But for a little while this week, some avid balloon poppers weren't getting any airborne presents. Thankfully, that's been fixed.
A patch pushed today for Animal Crossing: New Horizons specifically addresses an issue where "balloons would no longer fly over the island under certain circumstances." It's labeled Ver. 1.1.3, and should be available now.
As chronicled in a Reddit thread earlier this week, players who were hitting the 300 balloons popped milestone and redeeming the Nook Miles reward for it stopped seeing any more balloons. Besides just missing out on freebies of furniture, balloons are also a good source of eggs for the ongoing Bunny Day event (or a bad source of useless eggs, depending on who you ask).
The Bunny Day event has been just a little contentious, as aquatic shadows and gifts from up high are filled with eggs, redeemable for egg-based recipes to make egg-centric furniture. If you're not an egg person, it's a little annoying. But at least the players who do want the eggs from balloons can start seeing them all over again.
The whole event is part of New Horizons' seasonal celebrations, which will also include a Nature Day—seemingly Earth Day. Interestingly, these limited time events also coincide with patches, so those time-traveling players can't get a leg up on the rest of us.
