It looks like we might be in for more Borderlands this year. Two video clips of what appears to be a trailer for a Tales From the Borderlands re-release have leaked online, and it ends with a mysterious teaser for a potential sequel.
The two videos surfaced on Reddit from a now-deleted user account. They show off-screen footage of what seems to be a trailer for Tales From the Borderlands Redux, a purported re-release of the original Telltale Games-developed narrative Borderlands adventure.
Redux would include behind-the-scenes content like developer commentary, a gallery, and a new mini-episode. The studios shown include Telltale, 2K, and Gearbox, but also AdHoc Studio, which is currently working on The Wolf Among Us 2 and has a few former Telltale employees.
Interestingly, the trailer also ends with a 2020 reveal that warps and turns into a "2." Some are thinking this could be a tease for a possible sequel to the Telltale adventure.
Tales From the Borderlands was in a nebulous state after Telltale Games closed down in 2018. The studio has since returned under new leadership and started working on new games. The studio has already put out a "Shadows Edition" re-release of the Telltale's Batman series in partnership with Athlon Games.
Considering Rhys' appearance in Borderlands 3, it's not completely outlandish to consider a re-release might be in the works. It is, however, just a potential rumor at this point, as no studio has confirmed a Tales From the Borderlands Redux at the moment.
