Nintendo Direct Bombshell: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is Getting a Full Remake on Switch This Year

Dreams come true.

Nintendo just announced a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the Nintendo Switch. The new version will feature updated graphics and reimagines the 1993 GameBoy adventure.

As the final announcement for today's Nintendo Direct, Link's Awakening for the Nintendo Switch is a pretty big Hylian bomb. Nintendo even showed off brief snippets of the updated graphics which look similar to The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds on the 3DS.

Released in 1993, Link's Awakening is one of the most beloved Legend of Zelda games thanks to its timeless gameplay and dream-like narrative. Plus, the Ballad of the Wind Fish is hands-down one of the all-time best songs in The Legend of Zelda.

No release date yet, but Nintendo says The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening will be coming out sometime in 2019.
