Quest: A Testing Proposition

Difficulty: 3 Stars

Client: Alchemist Velno

Location: West of the Slaughterhouse

Reward: 3,500 gil, Scholar's Mortarboard, Nektar of the Gods, Maximum HP +120, Strength +8, Magic +12

Before you can begin this quest, you must have at least one free slot in your Recovery Items. Speak with Alchemist Velno to start the quest and receive a vial of Nektar. Engage in battle until Lightning is afflicted with a status ailment, then use the vial of Nektar. Once this is done, return to Velno to receive another recovery item. Use this in a battle after Lightning has been poisoned. The best way to get poisoned is to head to the Dead Dunes and engage in battle against a Goblot.

Go back and speak with Velno again to obtain the next recovery item. This one must be used once Lightning is afflicted with at least three status ailments. Fighting against a Meonekton in Luxerion works well for this. Head back to Velno once again to receive the Nektar of the Gods, then use it at any point during a Slaughterhouse battle. Speak with Velno one last time to complete the quest.

Quest: Adoring Adornments

Difficulty: 3 Stars

Client: Candice

Location: West side of the Augur's Quarter

Availability: 07:00 - 15:00

Reward: 5,000 gil, Carnival Mask, Maximum HP +140, Strength +8, Magic +12

Speak with Candice when you have 10, 30 and 55 or more adornments in your inventory. You can receive adornments by completing quests, or purchasing them from stores. After you speak with Candice for a third time, with at least 55 adornments in your inventory, the quest is completed.

Quest: Adoring Candace

Difficulty: 2 Stars

Client: Tomesso

Location: Near the Inn north of Augur's Quarter

Availability: 19:00 - 03:00 Prerequisites: Complete Main Quest 2-3 and Adoring Adornments side quest

Reward: 1,400 gil, Heart Glasses, Onion Knight's Helm, Maximum HP +80, Strength +8, Magic +4

Speak with Tomesso to begin the quest, then head to the temporary merchant east of the Sorcery Shop. It's only open between 15:00 and 17:00. Purchase the Gift Glasses for 4,000 gil, then speak with Tomesso again to complete the quest.

Quest: Death Game

Difficulty: 3 Stars

Client: Biggs

Location: Just outside the north entrance to the Warehouse District Prerequisites: Complete Death Safari side quest

Reward: 3,800 gil, Emergency Beacon, Dragoon garb, Maximum HP +120, Strength +12, Magic +6

When you speak to Biggs to begin the quest, Lightning is locked inside the Warehouse District and must defeat 30 enemies with no way to replenish lost recovery items. This is easier than it sounds because most of the enemies are relatively low level and will die with minimal effort. It's still a good idea to equip Mediguard to regain lost health during battle. All of the enemies must be defeated within four game hours. Use Chronostasis if you can't defeat the enemies fast enough. Once all 30 enemies are defeated within the allotted time, the quest is complete.

Quest: Death Safari

Difficulty: 2 Stars

Client: Suspicious Gatekeeper

Location: Near the Industrial Area Gate Prerequisites: Complete Main Quest 2-1

Reward: 1,200 gil, Dark Devil Ears, Dazzling Devil Ears, Pure Angel Ears, Cautious Devil Ears, Maximum HP +80, Strength +8, Magic +4

Speak with the Suspicious Gatekeeper and he essentially tasks you with killing 30 Niblets. In most battles the Niblets appear in large groups, so have area spells and attacks at the ready to make the battles go by faster. Once you have killed the necessary Niblets, speak with the Suspicious Gatekeeper again to complete the quest.

Quest: Family Food

Difficulty: 2 Stars

Client: Seedy's Owner

Location: Southwest corner of the Glutton's Quarter

Reward: 1,500 gil, Chef's Hat, Maximum HP +120, Strength +8, Magic +4

Speak with Seedy's owner and sample the dish he offers. After you accept the quest, head up the stairs on the east side of the Glutton's Quarter. There's a restaurant at the top of the stairs. Approach the man sitting down to find that he is in fact Gordon Gourmet, the person you need to speak with.

Your next task is to eat at all six restaurants in the Glutton's Quarter. Speak with the Banquet Maitre D' at the entrance to the restaurant, then head back down the stairs and eat at the Terrace Cafe at the bottom. It doesn't matter which item you sample, so select the lowest priced item to conserve your gil. Continue down the stairs and to the end of the path, then head right up the next set of stairs to find the Veggie Parlor to the left. Once again, purchase the cheapest item.

Across the way from the Veggie Parlor is Fishy Flavors. Directly across from Fishy Flavors is the Meat Grill. Around the corner to the right is Stand 'n Sip, which is the final restaurant. Head back and speak with Gordon Gourmet again. Now you need to head to Central Avenue to engage and defeat Schrodinger. Oddly enough, it's a cat... go figure.

Schrodinger drops the Civet Musk. Obtain the item, then head back to Gordon Gourmet and show him the item to acquire Gordon Gourmet's Recipe. The quest is almost done, so head back to Seedy's owner. He gives you the Steak a la Civet to deliver to Gordon Gourmet. When you deliver the item, the quest will be complete.

Quest: Fireworks for a Steal

Head into the corridor that runs west between the Glutton's Quarter and the Champion's Quarter. Attack the enemy that appears and defeat it to obtain five fireworks. Report back to Funicula to return the fireworks. Follow Funicula back to his store and speak with him again to obtain seven fireworks and complete the quest.

Quest: Fireworks in a Bottle

Difficulty: 1 Star

Client: Drunk Pyrotechnician

Location: Central Avenue

Availability: 19:00 - 00:00 Prerequisites: Only available during Main Quest 2-2

Reward: 300 gil, Ceremonial Headdress, Maximum HP +40, Strength +2, Magic +4

Before you accept the quest, make sure you have enough time to complete it. This quest must be accepted and completed on the same night. Speak with the Drunk Pyrotechnician to begin the quest, then head up the red carpet stairs near the station and speak with the Maitre D'. Pay him 1,000 gil for the item, then speak with the Drunk Pyrotechnician to complete the quest.

- In the middle Augur's Quarter, near the person fixing the statue.

- Near the Cactuar statue south of Central Avenue.
