Limited Mega Man Art Book Celebrates 25th Anniversary

For the full swag edition of Mega Man's new art book, you'll need to be at San Diego Comic-Con this year.

News by Mike Williams, .

Even though Capcom isn't actually publishing Mega Man games, you can still celebrate the Blue Bomber's anniversary with MM25: Mega Man & Mega Man X Official Complete Works. The art book will be published by Udon and feature 430+ pages of gorgeous official concept and game art, alongside tribute pieces.

If you happen to be at Comic-Con, this could be yours.

The book was released in Japan late last year as R20+5: Rockman & Rockman X Official Complete Works, but Udon has taken the time to translate all the production notes and interviews into English for those of us without a command of the Japanese language. R20+5 was an update to R20, which was released in Japan years ago and published in the United States by Udon as two books: Mega Man: Official Complete Works and Mega Man X: Official Complete Works. Both books are collector's items now, so this new book will give fans the chance to own all the artwork in a single volume, plus additional content from Mega Man 9 and 10.

For San Diego Comic-Con on July 17th to 21st, Udon will be selling a limited edition version of MM25 with a blue laser foil hardcover. This special version will be sold at Udon's booth (#4529) for $100. It's first-come, first-served, so be prepared to wait in line! Any books that don't get sold at Comic-Con will find their way to PAX Prime and Udon's Online Store in August.

If you don't care about the snazzy, shiny cover, you can still pick up the basic edition of MM25. The MRSP for the regular version is $59.99, but retailers like Amazon have the pre-order at discounted prices. Unfortunately, you'll have to wait until September for that release.

Sadly, I can’t really go to the Comicon. But this is beautiful material so I might get myself the basic edition.

I am a little disappointed that this is a combination of two books I already own. Despite that, Mega Man 9 is my favorite of the series now - and I want to support Mega Man properties. I won't be at Comic-Con, but Udon and Capcom will be receiving my money.

@Gospel X I sorta glad that I didn't have time to pick up either of them. I own the SF, MMZero, and MMStarForce complete works because I love that Capcom art, but I never got around to finding MM and MMX. So this is a score for me.
