Looks Like a PS5 Announcement Could Be Happening Tomorrow

According to a GAME Twitter account in the UK.

Alright, everyone cool it for a second. After Microsoft's Xbox Series S price and release date was leaked in full earlier today, and then confirmed by Microsoft themselves shortly afterward, it appears we're due a PlayStation 5 announcement tomorrow. The news sure is coming thick and fast.

The since-delated tweet comes from GAME Guildford's Twitter account, which you can see just below (if you're unfamiliar, GAME is a game shop chain in the UK). The account claims that there's a PS5 announcement of some sort scheduled tomorrow on September 9, but what PlayStation could be set to reveal is anyone's guess.

Of course, we're still waiting on both pricing and release date information for the PlayStation 5. Sony's next-gen marketing strategy so far has been to reveal bits of their next-gen hardware at a time, like rolling out the DualSense controller before the PS5 was even revealed.

Sony might have their work cut out with the Xbox Series S's price reveal earlier today. The ability to play next-gen games for $299 is a very convincing price point, even more so in the UK, where the console is priced for just £249.

Whatever this imminent reveal from Sony might be, you can be sure we'll be reporting on it straight away here at USgamer. Here's hoping for a price reveal for the PlayStation 5, which we're well past due by now as we head into mid-September.
