Luigi's Mansion Remake Comes to the 3DS Later This Year

Luigi's Mansion is getting a proper remake.

Luigi's Mansion is getting a full, proper remake for the 3DS according to today's Nintendo Direct. This is not a sequel or spinoff, but rather the GameCube version of Luigi's Mansion shrunk down for the 3DS.

Today's Nintendo Direct started with a showcase of 3DS games to prove that Nintendo's handheld still has some life in it. Alongside a couple cool announcements like a new WarioWare game, Luigi's Mansion remake is easily the most exciting part of the upcoming 3DS line-up.

Luigi's Mansion first came out in 2001 on the GameCube and was Nintendo's attempt at making a kid-friendly horror game starring everyone's favorite plumber brother. A sequel, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon was released on the 3DS in 2013. The 3DS remake will be available later this year.
