Yesterday, a Silent Hill collaboration with Dead by Daylight was announced for next month in June. According to manga artist Suehiro Maruo, that might not be the only Silent Hill news on the horizon.
Maruo first announced that he was working with Konami on something Silent Hill-related last month in an Instagram post. Fast forward to today, the day after the collaboration announcement with Dead by Daylight, and Maruo is teasing "we just started" on his Instagram account, in a post showing the collaboration announcement.
The wording of Maruo's Instagram post would certainly seem to point to more announcements surrounding Silent Hill on the horizon. It surely can't refer to development of the Silent Hill and Dead by Daylight collaboration, since both Pyramid Head and Cheryl Mason are arriving in the latter game in less than a month from now.
There are, of course, persistent Silent Hill rumors doing the rounds. It feels like there's been some form of rumor surrounding Silent Hill being revived ever since Hideo Kojima's Silent Hills was cancelled all the way back in 2015. Various people have long claimed that Silent Hill is being rebooted at Konami, who has handed off development to another studio. These rumors are entirely unsubstantiated, and Konami outright denied the rumors of a Silent Hill reboot as recently as March 2020.
But still, Maruo's post does raise eyebrows. Is the manga artist teasing that there's more in the future concerning Silent Hill outside of this collaboration with Dead by Daylight? Only time will tell.
