Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Reveals Two New Heroes, But Only One Has Links to the Avengers Films

Prepare to fight like a Marvel of a Hawk.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is coming exclusively to the Nintendo Switch this July, and you can be confident this co-op action RPG will serve up heroes a-plenty. Two new heroes were revealed earlier today, in fact: Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel (a.k.a. Kamala Khan, not Captain Marvel from the Marvel Cinematic Universe).

Game Informer broke the news about the two newcomers after a trip to Nintendo of America. Hawkeye is already well-known amongst mainstream movie-goers thanks to his role in the Avengers movies, so it probably won't come as a surprise to learn the crackshot archer wields a bow and a quiver of trick arrows against the bad guys. Ms. Marvel prefers to go a bit more hands-on by stretching and enlarging parts of her body, thus turning her whole self into a cudgel capable of walloping foes. Unlike Hawkeye, Khan hasn't shown up in any of the Marvel movies (yet).

The box art for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 revealed lots of additional fighters last month. Sharp-eyed Marvel fans will spot Quill from the Guardians of the Galaxy as well as Thor, Black Panther, Venom, and more. You should also be able to spot Wolverine and Spider-Man, though you might have to squint.

When Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 arrives on July 19, it'll mark the first new Ultimate Alliance game since Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 came to the Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS in 2009. Whereas the previous game follows Marvel's Civil War story arc, Ultimate Alliance 3 follows the more recent story about Thanos and the Infinity Stones.

We doubt Hawkeye and Ms. Marvel are the last character reveals. Keep up with our Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 guide for more information about the game as it comes.
