A longtime Dragon Ball fighter is finally joining the roster of Arc System Works' fighting game. Master Roshi, the once-mentor of many of the Z Fighters, arrives in Dragon Ball FighterZ this September.
Revealed in a new trailer, Master Roshi will have a few of his more modern moves when he joins the fray. This includes the Evil Containment Wave, which you can see him blast Piccolo with in the trailer.
No exact date has been set yet for Roshi's debut for players at home. From the trailer, it seems apparent that this version of Master Roshi will be based on his appearance in Dragon Ball Super, especially given the use of Evil Containment Wave. I'm really hoping for a super that involves the classic Buff Roshi of old, though.
Alongside Kefla and the Ultra Instinct variant of Goku, who arrived earlier this year, that leaves just two slots left on the FighterZ Pass 3 docket. Considering the roster that's already in the game, including Videl, Captain Ginyu, many of the major series heroes and villains, and a metric tonnage of Gokus, it's hard to imagine who's left. Majin Vegeta? Maybe one of the more obscure movie characters, or another Dragon Ball GT fighter to join GT Goku? I'm personally hoping beyond hope for Launch.
Dragon Ball FighterZ was released back in 2018, and has since seen a bevy of updates. Beyond just the Gokus, Arc System Works and Bandai Namco have added additional training options and the ability to select assists, aligning it even closer with its Marvel vs. Capcom inspirations. Where this game goes from here is anyone's guess.
