Today marks the launch of the PlayStation 5, two days after the launch of the new Xbox Series X and S. There are a lot of things you can do with the new console: play games, watch videos, or ponder the meaning of life. You probably shouldn't be blowing smoke into it, though.
Videos of "smoking" Xbox consoles went somewhat viral yesterday. Twitter users were posting videos of their new Xbox Series X blowing smoke out of the top of the console.
It didn't take long for others, like XboxStudio, to show how this was being done: it appears people were blowing vape smoke into their Xbox Series X. The smoke would then get blown up and out over the top, making it seem like the Xbox was internally blazing.
Eventually, Xbox made a comment on the matter. "We can't believe we have to say this, but please do not blow vape smoke into your Xbox Series X," said Xbox's Twitter account.
I have to echo that sentiment: please do not vape into your console. It's shiny, new, and is apparently selling pretty well. Even if you have the spare cash around to buy a replacement, you might be surprised at how difficult the process of getting a second might be.
What you should do with your Xbox Series X is play some old games. In our Xbox Series X review, Kat noted that there aren't a lot of big launch exclusives for Microsoft's console, but the backward compatibility options are pretty rad. Bolster that selection with an Xbox Game Pass sub, and you'll be playing some of the best-looking Forza you've ever seen. That's a much better plan than blowing hot smoke into it for imaginary Internet points.
