Earlier this year, Nintendo and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai revealed that the next fighter joining the extensive game's roster would be from Arms. Since then scheduled plans and developments have changed due to the spread of COVID-19, but at last we know that the next fighter is none other than Min Min.
Today on June 22, director Sakurai revealed Super Smash Bros. Ultimates' next fighter in a 35-minute presentation. As Sakurai revealed in the week prior to the livestream, this presentation didn't have the usual bells and whistles due to the director having to film the entire thing from his home instead of the development offices.
If you're unfamiliar with the character, we don't exactly blame you. Min Min didn't feature on the cover of Arms like Spring Man or Ribbon Girl, but she's nonetheless an easily loveable character with a bowl of noodles adorning her head.
In Smash Bros., Min Min will be able to switch out only her right arm, a little different from switching out both arms in her original game. You can seamlessly control Min Min while using her arms, so you aren't glued to one spot while using them, making her a rapid and versatile fighter. Additionally, whereas B would normally be a special attack for most fighters, Min Min attacks with her right arm using B and left using the normal A attack. You can pair the two together for some pretty devastating combos.
As Nintendo also announced last week, there wouldn't be any information about further fighters coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate at a later date. This is likely due to development being impacted by COVID-19, so we'll have to wait a while to see who the next character included with Fighter Pass 2 is.
Finally, Min Min will be available on June 29 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. You'll need to own the new Fighter Pass 2 to unlock the Arms character for action.
