New MLB The Show 19 Trailer Teases Some Really Neat Hooks Into Baseball History

A blast from the past.

PlayStation and Sony San Diego just released the first trailer for MLB The Show 19, this year's installment of the popular baseball sim. The gameplay trailer includes glimpses of new gameplay, as well as some returning legends.

You can see glimpses of new and returning features coming to MLB The Show 19. Room customization and Legends will be making a comeback, while the core gameplay looks to have gotten some exciting updates. Sony San Diego has always prided itself on the lifelike gameplay of MLB The Show, and there seems to be some added refinements since last year's installment. The trailer also ends on a cool shot of baseball legend Willie Mays in a black-and-white filter.

MLB The Show 19 features Bryce Harper as its cover star, despite him being a free agent in 2019. The final cover will likely change to reflect which MLB team he ultimately signs with for the season, but until then the cover simply features Harper in a hoodie.

MLB The Show 19 launches on March 26, 2019 and comes in two editions. The Standard Edition is available for pre-order and comes with 10 Standard Packs along with some retail-specific bonuses. You'll be getting the most by pre-ordering from the PS Store which includes a Gold Player Choice Pack, 5,000 Stubs, and the Bryce Harper MVP Flashback Card for MLB The Show 18.
