Monster Hunter World: Iceborne Teases Two New Variant Monsters
Motion capture stuntman variant for Rajang, please.
Capcom is still adding new content to Monster Hunter: World, even in the months after the massive Iceborne expansion launching for PC and consoles. It looks like the next additions to the huge game will be two new variant monsters.
The tease below comes through the official Monster Hunter Twitter account. Capcom adding new monsters to their game is nothing new, and there's been a steady drip feed of content for the game both before and after Iceborne launched, with monsters like the Rajang being introduced. Nonetheless, it's just another reason to return to a fantastic game, which we'll gladly take.
2 Variant Monsters are coming to #Iceborne! Look out for a trailer and more info on these monsters next week, on February 6... pic.twitter.com/tw48SicG7D

For those unfamiliar, variant monsters are beasts that have a different physical appearance and fight in a different manner from their base counterparts. Like how the Stygian Zinogre has dragon elemental attacks and takes on a fierce red glow, whereas the base Zinogre has thunder elemental attacks and a blue aura surrounding it.
It's anyone's guess as to what these two new variant monsters could be. Note that it's probably not another variant of the Nergigante as the Twitter post uses, and this is likely just an example of a variant monster.
Monster Hunter: World has come a long way since it launched just over two years ago. It's amassed a following of console players for the very first time in the series to become Capcom's best-selling game ever. Recently, we took a look back at Monster Hunter World: Iceborne's successes since it launched in September.
