Monster Hunter World is Finally Going to Let You Edit Your Character Creation Mistakes

Capcom has heard your pleas and offers redemption.

Remember when you first made your character in Monster Hunter World, but then they didn't end up looking the way you thought they would in the actual game? Well Capcom hears your pleas and is offering every player a free Character Edit Voucher on March 16 so you can redo your botched character creations.

When Monster Hunter World first launched, some players were disappointed to find out that after spending hours to make their Monster Hunters look stunning in the game's robust character customization menu, the actual end results ended up looking... less than ideal.

This prompted players to ask Capcom (begging really) for a chance to redo their character's appearance. Monster Hunter World producer Ryozo Tsujimoto told the games press in January that players unfortunately "can't redo it, but when making a character you can check their expressions, so you might want to do that first while making a character." He did add however that, "if there's enough demand [to redo character customization] then I'll put it under consideration."

The demand must have been great as there will now be an opportunity to redo your character, with the first opportunity to do so on the house. Capcom listed some stipulations about what you can and cannot change.

First off, you will be allowed to edit your Hunter's gender, physical appearance, and cosmetic appearance (the latter you can already do at any time).

However, You won't be able to edit your Hunter's name, your Palico's name, or your Palico's appearance. Which is fine because all Palicos are perfect, even cat experts agree.

Furthermore, you will only have one free opportunity to edit your character's physical appearance and gender. After you've used up the free voucher, Capcom will be selling the Character Edit vouchers at a later date for an unannounced price.

You will be able to redeem your free Character Edit voucher in the PlayStation and Xbox Store on March 16. In the meantime, check out our Monster Hunter World Review, or our Monster Hunter World Guides for more info.
