Monster Hunter World Kicks Off 2018 With January Release

Capcom's latest Monster Hunter will launch worldwide next year.

With Tokyo Game Show off to start, Capcom announced today that Monster Hunter World will be launching worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26, 2018. The news came during the PlayStation Press Conference at the show. The PC release still has an undisclosed launch date.

Capcom offered up a brand new trailer for the game, showing the many environments players can expect to Monster Hunt in, including the Coral Highlands. The three minute trailer also gives us a peek into the game's overall story and some of the monsters Capcom has crafted for the new title.

In a press release, Capcom detailed the game's standard, Digital Deluxe, and Collector's Editions. Players that pre-order the game get the Origin Set Armor and Fair Wind Charm talisman, which will give players early boosts. Pre-ordering from the PlayStation Store will also net a custom PS4 theme.

The Digital Deluxe Edition ($69.99) comes with a Samurai Set skin, three gestures, two sticker sets, in addition to extra face paint and a new hair style option for your hunter. The PlayStation 4 version gets PlayStation Network avatars based on every Monster Hunter World weapon type. The Collector's Edition ($149.99) offers everything from the Digital Deluxe Edition, a 32-page art book, a monster statue, and a digital soundtrack code.

If you see him around a convention, he's not hard to spot: Black guy, glasses, and a tie.
