The first major piece of DLC for Pokemon Sword and Shield is on its way. Tomorrow, we're getting some more news about the upcoming expansions.
The Isle of Armor, the first of two pieces of expansion DLC for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, is currently set for the end of June. The second expansion, the Frozen Tundra, is slotted for sometime later this year.
Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are set to get to these two expansions with new challenges and content, as well as a number of returning Pokemon for the Galar region. It's a slightly different model than Pokemon fans might be used to, though it means more Pokemon content now rather than waiting for a redux version.
You also won't have to buy the DLC to fill up your Pokedex, as players will still be able to trade for the pocket monsters arriving in the DLC updates. Even without spending cash, you can keep that Pokedex pristine and up-to-date.
It's unclear what the Pokemon Company has in store for tomorrow's announcement, but it kicks off a month of summer gaming news, though that may start to go into flux. A PS5 games showcase is still slated for this week, though a Madden NFL 21 stream originally set for today has been delayed in solidarity with ongoing protests in the U.S..
