NBA 2K14 Soundtrack Gets The LeBron Touch

Cover athlete LeBron James is the first player to choose the soundtrack fro NBA 2K.

News by Mike Williams, .

Last year, hip-hop mogul Jay-Z picked the soundtrack for 2K Sports' NBA 2K13. This year, the developer is aiming closer to home, with cover athlete LeBron James choosing which songs go on the soundtrack this time around. Fans looking to listen to the entire thing prior to the game's release can stream the soundtrack on the NBA 2K14 Spotify page.

"2K is letting me take control of some important elements in NBA 2K14, including this year's soundtrack," said the real LeBron James, not the creepy one shown in the NBA 2K14 trailer at E3. "I love that I'm the first NBA 2K cover athlete to choose the soundtrack."

Do not stare directly into the eyes of the demon.

    I thought Lebron was the player who hired a DJ to follow him on vacation, so in reality Lebron's DJ selected the music. Also, doesn't it feel like his selection as a cover athlete is a rare misstep for the series? Hell, wasn't something like 77% of people rooting for the Spurs at this year's Finals?

    @hammersuit I think you're just hurt because you didn't back a winner, sir. =P

    @hammersuit Obviously any decent human being wanted the Spurs to win (and they essentially did win until they got horribly unlucky on about 8 straight bad bounces in Game 6), but Labron is undeniably the best. It's probably the right move.

    @MHWilliams@Baltimore Jones Lebron is unquestionably the best, he just also seems like one of the more unpopular athletes out there. When your victory speeches address your haters more than your fans, even you know there's a problem...

    But re: not backing a winner, I'm a New York Knicks fan. That's part of the deal.Edited 2 times. Last edited July 2013 by hammersuit
