NBA 2K19's MyTeam is Getting a Bunch of New Modes and Better Card Drops
Quality of life changes and more are coming to NBA 2K19.
NBA 2K19 just announced a host of new features coming to the game's MyTEAM card mode. Three new modes are coming to MyTEAM along with some quality of life changes that should see you drawing better cards more frequently.
The first new mode coming to NBA2K19's MyTEAM is MyTEAM Unlimited, a competitive online mode that lets you pick a lineup of your 13 best players without restriction to take on opponents. Rewards in MyTEAM Unlimited are determined by a ladder system, where players will have to win up to 12 games. The more games you win, the better the prizes. Get three losses and you'll have to start over again from the bottom.
The top prizes in Unlimited include free league packs and Reward Tokens. But if you go undefeated and win all 12 games you'll win a special Pink Diamond Player of the Month card. Complete the set and you'll earn a Galaxy Opal Isiah Thomas card.
The next new mode is Triple Threat, a single player, 3 vs 3 mode where you'll have to defeat all 30 NBA teams one division at a time. The rewards for Triple Threat are handled by a pachinko like system where players drop prize balls down a semi-random pachinko machine. The machine mechanic also determines your opponents, and new boards open for each new division you unlock.
Lastly there are new Daily Trials where you can earn MyTEAM points for completing various objectives, like log-in quests. Every day there will be new quests to complete and you'll be able to redeem completed missions for reward points. This is to help speed up your deck building progression.
The three modes join some quality of life changes coming to NBA 2K19. The dev team is speeding up card drops so that Amethyst cards will be available day one, and Diamond cards will be available earlier as well. Special packs like Throwback packs will include at least one Throwback card in each pack, and it sounds like this is the same for other special packs as well.
With the MyTEAM overhaul it sounds as though NBA 2K19 is trying to build a more satisfying experience for card collectors. NBA 2K19 is coming out on September 11, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. Check out our NBA 2K19 guide for more details.
