Negan From The Walking Dead is Coming to Tekken 7 as a Playable Character

The Walking Dead meets Tekken 7.

Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada appeared on the main stage of EVO 2018 after the Tekken 7 finals to announce a new season pass for Tekken 7. There will be returning playable characters like Anna and Nina, but also new fighters like Negan from AMC's The Walking Dead as part of a new crossover.

If you missed this year's Tekken 7 finals at EVO 2018 you just missed one of the best events at this year's tournament (shout out to Lil Majin). Harada premiered a new trailer promoting the Season 2 Pass for Tekken 7 featuring returning favorites like Nina, Anna, and Lei. The biggest surprise came at the end however when Negan, the villain from The Walking Dead comics and TV show, was also announced as an incoming character.

There are still what looks to be three characters not yet announced as part of the Season 2 Pass not including Negan. It's unclear if Negan is the only character from The Walking Dead joining the Tekken 7 roster.

Negan is a famous villain from both The Walking Dead comic books, and later the television series where he is portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Negan is known for his violence towards both zombies and humans alike, and for wielding a barbed-wired baseball bat named "Lucille."

Tekken 7 is Bandai Namco's newest entry into the long-running Tekken series. Our Tekken 7 review praised it as a pure fighting game experience, awarding Tekken 7 a 4/5. Bandai Namco previously announced Astaroth and Seong Mi-Na as the two new characters joining the Soul Calibur 6 roster.
