NES Themed Nintendo Switch Controllers are $200, Might as Well Just Buy an NES Classic

It depends on your NES priorities I suppose.

Did you manage to buy a Nintendo Switch but miss out on an NES Classic? Does it set your collector, Nintendo fan heart aflame? Well for $200 you can get your own NES-themed Nintendo Switch joy-cons from ColorWare.

NES-themes Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons

The reason why ColorWare charges such a premium for their custom Joy-Cons is because the company disassembles the original Joy-Cons by hand, then repaints them. That kind of intensive manual labor fetches a high price. Even the straps and bumper add-ons match.

The current Nintendo marketplace is expensive enough as it is. Regular Joy-cons already cost more than a hundred dollars for a pair (prices vary depending on colors), and the NES Classic is anywhere from $200 to $500. The SNES Classic market is no better, and will probably only become worse once pre-orders begin in the U.S.

Basically, it's very expensive to be a Nintendo fan right now which is a crying shame.
