New Areas Uncovered in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening E3 Demo

Check out the Tal Tal Heights and more in a new Link's Awakening demo video.

We got our best look at the upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening at this year's E3. But someone managed to get past the boundaries of the demo to explore new locations and previously unseen areas, and get it on camera.

GameXplain was able to visit some new areas beyond the first dungeon area where the E3 demo was supposed to end. Thanks to a little sequence breaking by getting the Roc's Feather and leaving the dungeon early, the GameXplain crew was able to visit Mr. Write and Tal Tal Heights.

You can check out both and a little more in the video below.

While it's not more than some extra vantage points, you can listen to the Link's Awakening remix rendition of the Tal Tal Heights theme at the 1:05 minute mark. The video might be worth it for that alone.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is a Nintendo Switch remake of the 1993 Game Boy original. We were able to play a little of Link's Awakening ourselves at E3 and got a chance to see the new toy aesthetic in action. The remake is very much like the original if it was wrung through a Toy Story Instagram filter.

Another new addition that arrives with the advanced technology is how instead of any screens, Link's Awakening on the Switch is shown via one constantly panning camera. The seamless transitions help make the island seem even bigger.

With a new look, and some major technological advancements, we're excited to dig even deeper into Link's Awakening when it releases later this year on September 20.
