Sledgehammer Games has detailed the content that will be included in The Reisistence, the first DLC pack for Call of Duty: WWII.
Included in the DLC pack are three new maps centered around the theme of Resistance, by which I'm referring to the underground network of citizens united against Nazi Germany. Players will be able to explore this theme in maps like Valkyrie, Anthropoid, and Occupation which will be set across Europe in cities and locales where real life resistance movements were centered. There is also a new War Mode and Nazi Zombie mode included in the DLC as well.
Valkyrie, named after the famous operation by German officers who attempted to assassinate Adolf Hitler in The Wolf's Lair, will take place in the very location where the assassination occurred in Poland. Sledgehammer describes the map as a multi-playstyle map with sniper spots in the outer areas, and run-and-gun gameplay opportunities in the middle.
Anthropoid takes place in occupied Prague, Czech Republic which features a lot of height variation and close-quarter interiors typical of a modern urban city.
Lastly there is Occupation which is a redo of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 map, "Resistance." The map is set in Paris and you'll be able to take advantage of the city's modern landscape and buildings.
There is also a new War Mode called Operation Intercept which lets players take part in the French Resistance. Your job is to rescue French Resistance fighters before stealing radio equipment so that you can launch a full attack against the Nazis.
Finally, a new chapter called The Darkest Shore continues the Nazi Zombies story as you track down a Nazi scientist who has escaped to a creepy island. The map's main draw is its foggy setting which adds to the terror of the map. There's also a new gun called the Rip Saw which is part buzz saw and gun that slices up enemies. Hunting you on this foggy island is a "clever" new type of Zombie that the developers say is the scariest yet.
The Resistance DLC pack will be available on January 30 for PlayStation 4, with the Xbox One and PC getting the DLC at a later date.
