At launch, Devil May Cry 5 on PS4 featured a scene that was different in the U.S. compared to the Japanese version. The scene features Trish being rescued by Dante from within a demon, during which the former character appeared stark naked, with the U.S. version adding some well-placed lens flare. The lens flare is no more.
In patch 1.07 for Devil May Cry 5 on PS4, which was released yesterday to add in the Bloody Palace mode, the scene was altered. Instead of a lens flare covering up Trish's ass, there is now zero lens flare in the scene, as you can see in the video below.
Weirdly enough, the patch didn't affect the scene in European versions of Devil May Cry 5. There's still a large lens flare that covers up portions of Trish in the scene for European PS4 copies of Devil May Cry 5, with no word from Capcom on why exactly.
USG was recently at PAX East, where we had the opportunity to interview Devil May Cry 5 director Hideaki Itsuno. Earlier in March, we reviewed Devil May Cry 5's display of toxic masculinity, in which the game doesn't exactly perform admirably.
