Sega, NIS America, Inti Creates and More Announce New Digital Games Showcase For June

June is looking pretty packed for gaming news.

A new digital games showcase is joining the growing June lineup. The New Game+ Expo, or NGPX, is a brand-new online expo where 14 publishers are set to announce news and showcase live gameplay demos.

NGPX is slated to go live on June 23, 2020 on Twitch. Starting with the showcase at 8 a.m. PT, a live broadcast will follow from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. PT featuring interviews and first looks. A number of publishers, based out of both North America and Japan, are on deck to look at the lineup for 2020 and beyond.

Here's the full list of participating publishers for NGPX:

  • Acttil
  • Aksys Games
  • Arc System Works America
  • Atlus
  • Grasshopper Manufacture
  • GungHo America
  • Idea Factory International
  • Inti Creates
  • Koei Tecmo
  • Natsume
  • NIS America
  • Playism
  • Sega of America
  • SNK
  • Spike Chunsoft
  • WayForward

Due to the global health crisis surrounding COVID-19, many of the year's major expos have had to call off their shows and move to digital formats. E3 2020 has been officially canceled, while Gamescom has moved to a fully digital format after calling off its physical presence. Even publishers like Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are planning digital press conferences, in place of their usual stage shows taking place around E3.

Still, the industry is adapting quickly, with many shows springing up under the Summer Game Fest banner. Games are still in development, and the next generation of consoles still seems set for this holiday season for the moment. Though it means we won't have one concentrated week of press conferences and floor presentations, now the games industry is hosting something closer to four months of a constant stream of video game news.
