New Last of Us Part 2 Trailer Shows Ellie's Journey, Vehicle Combat, and More

There's a long journey ahead for Ellie.

Yesterday, Naughty Dog announced that a brand new trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 would be airing today, on May 6. We've now got the brand new trailer here, the first promo material for the sequel since parts of the game were leaked nearly two weeks ago.

You can see the trailer for yourself just below. It starts out with a tiny look back on the journey of the first game from Naughty Dog, before jumping forward to the brutal and violent events of the sequel.

Ellie seems to set out on her own from what looks like Tommy's community from the first game. You can also get a brief glimpse of some vehicle combat, as Ellie rides in the back of a truck shooting at people in another car pursuing her. The trailer makes it look like it's going to be a vast, difficult journey for Ellie.

This all follows on from huge portions of Naughty Dog's game leaking online around April 26. Plot spoilers and large chunks of gameplay were released online, and at the time speculation was rampant that this was the work of a disgruntled Naughty Dog employee.

Shortly after the leak and the reveal of The Last of Us Part 2's new release date, Naughty Dog and Sony then announced that they had identified the leakers. It turns out the leaks did not come from anyone employed by either Sony or Naughty Dog, but neither company has commented further on the matter since.

The Last of Us Part 2 will be launching on June 19 for PS4. Here's hoping there's no more leaks for the highly ancitipcated sequel from now until release.
