New Mortal Kombat 11 Story Trailer Confirms Three More Rumored Characters

Plus some time travel shenanigans.

Three new characters are confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11, as revealed in today's brand-new story trailer. Cassie Cage, Erron Black, and Jacqui Briggs will be joining the Mortal Kombat 11 roster to rip out some spines and break some jaws in a new, time-traveling story mode.

Today, NetherRealms Studios revealed the story trailer for Mortal Kombat 11, and surprise! It's about time travel. That means there's going to be some weird time stuff like how there will be two Johnny Cages. Boy, it'll be awkward when they meet their daughter Cassie Cage, who is confirmed for Mortal Kombat 11 along with Erron Black and Jacqui Briggs. All three characters return from Mortal Kombat 10.

The time stuff is a result of Kronika—Oh I get it! "Kron," like "Chronos"—messing with the universe and teaming up with Shao Khan. It's up to the good Mortal Kombat team to fight the bad guys in martial arts and fix everything Kronika and Shao Khan breaks thanks to their messy time-traveling.

Cassie, Erron, and Jacqui were all characters rumored for the roster in a recent online leak. So be wary of spoilers you might see online if you want to be surprised for Mortal Kombat 11's launch. They join other returning characters like Jade and Johnny Cage. Ed Boon also gave fans a bit hint about the roster when he said at the reveal event that Mortal Kombat 11's fighter lineup will lean towards returning faces and fan favorites.

Mortal Kombat 11 is confirmed for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Look for it on sale on April 23, and check out our Mortal Kombat 11 guide for our complete coverage.
