New Signature Weapon Types Revealed for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4

A brand new challenge for a brand new weapon type.

Cosmetics are all the rage in online shooters, obviously, and Call of Duty is no exception to this rule. Activision has now revealed a brand new type of weapon available in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 when the game launches later this year: Signature weapons.

In a new blog post today on August 29, Activision revealed the brand new cosmetic type of weapons for Black Ops 4 player. The MX-9 Signature weapon, which you'll get on day one if you purchase the Digital Deluxe, Digital Deluxe Enhanced, Pro Edition or Mystery Box Edition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 can be seen just below:

If the MX-9 is anything to go by, then Signature weapons are going to look incredibly fancy in Call of Duty later this year. However looking fancy is all that they're meant to do, as Activision was keen to emphasise that no Signature weapons in Black Ops 4 would have statistical bonuses from their base counterparts. So, the regular MX-9 won't be at a statistical disadvantage compared to the Signature MX-9.

As of right now, we're not entirely sure how to unlock Signature weapons in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. One thing is clear though: there'll be additional challenges for each Signature weapon in the game, which allows you to further upgrade the weapon cosmetically.
