EA Sports NHL 19 is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 14 with a host of new features, modes, and a new star on the cover.
All-Star defenseman P.K. Subban will take the cover of NHL 19, but the game will boast several improvements over last year's game. For the first time in the series, players will be able start their careers on the pond in outdoor rinks all the way to professional stadiums.
NHL 19 will also have improved character customization that lets players choose their lifestyle apparel, gear, clothing, as well as their playstyles. All-in-all there are over 900 new customization items introduced in NHL 19.
Players will also now rank up in a unified progression hub called World of Chel which includes EA Sports Hockey League, NHL Threes Drop In, and the two new modes NHL Ones and Pro-Am. NHL Ones is a 1v1v1 free-for-all mode with no rules or stoppages.
NHL 19 will be powered by RPM Tech, which EA Sports is promising cutting edge movement and animations. NHL 19 will also bring back classic stars like Wayne Gretzky that players can hop into the rink with.
NHL 19 will be available September 14 on PS4 and Xbox One, but EA Access members can play for up to 10 hours on September 6, 2018 as part of the Play First Trial. You can read our hands-on impressions of NHL 19 here.
