Back in 2016, Nintendo and Uniqlo announced a partnership for the 2017 edition of the Uniqlo Global T-Shirt Design Competition. Previous editions of the competition focused on Pixar and Disney properties, with fans sending in designs based on those brands and winners being chosen by their respective owners and stewards. UTGP 2017 has ended and Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has hand-picked the top 3 entries.
The Grand Prix winner, who received the $10,000 prize, was a simple and bold 8-bit Mario design by Japanese designer Takashi Kawazoe. The second place entry is a Splatoon design, while the third place winner is an evocative The Legend of Zelda design that's unfortunately only available in kids sizes.
The winning designs and a few of the runners-up, will be available for sale at Uniqlo starting on May 19, 2017. Mens and Womens sizes will retail for $14.90, while kids sizes will retail for $9.90. You can find all of the designs, sorted by Nintendo property, on the official UTGP 2017 page.
