Nintendo Collaborates With LeSportsac on a New Line of Fashionable Accessories

Time to level up your closet.

Uniqlo isn't the only place you can grab fashionable Nintendo-themed attire this year. LeSportsac, the American handbag company, has introduced their upcoming line of officially licensed Nintendo-designed bags, ranging from wallets to duffles.

Nintendo and LeSportsac both tweeted teasers for the collection, though its full line-up has yet to be displayed. The collection will include "crossbodies, totes, backpacks and weekenders, as well as small cosmetics and accessories" according to Nintendo. The tweet shows off four particular designs: a backpack, weekender, crossbody, and coin pouch.

But Nintendo goes into more detail about the stylish collaboration with LeSportsac on their website. For the special collaboration, two specific prints were designed for the assorted bags: "Power-Up Burst" is a brightly-hued homage to "Mario's iconic power-up items and classic foes," while the "Mario Travel" design looks more like the stickers you'd slap on an old suitcase, meant to resemble vintage travel memorabilia. Outside of those prints, LeSportsac and Nintendo have five other items, including the Game Boy-esque coin pouch, round Piranha Plant pouch, and a Mario cosmetic case. All the bags and accessories will feature a shiny Super Mario coin-shaped zipper pull.

The LeSportsac X Nintendo collaboration will first launch in Japan on July 19, and will be available elsewhere across the world this fall. Prices for all the bags and accessories is unknown at this time, but LeSportsac is known to cost a pretty penny—it would be no surprise if this collection ends up being on the pricier side.

This isn't Nintendo's first dance with fashion. If you're fiending for adorable Nintendo-inspired items for your closet, Uniqlo recently released a wide-range of fan-designed t-shirts available as a part of the UT X Nintendo collection now. In the past, Nintendo once collaborated with Vans for a limited collection as well.
