Tons of great news for Nintendo fans in today's Nintendo Direct, including a couple major bombshells.

Nintendo dropped a big new Nintendo Direct today, revealing Super Mario Maker 2 and new details on Fire Emblem: Three Houses. It also confirmed that bunch of content will be coming to existing games, and Switch ports for some of last year's releases will be arriving sooner than expected.

Here's all the major news from today's stream. It includes a release window for Joker in Smash Bros., Dragon Quest 11 coming to Switch, and all the new details on Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

In addition, Nintendo made a bunch of smaller announcements. Here are some of the highlights.

  • All courses in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker will support two-player coop starting today. In addition, 18 new challenges and 5 new courses are coming via paid DLC.
  • Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, which has been under development for several years now, is finally coming out in Summer 2019. We interviewed Koji Igarashi about its progress last year.
  • Dragon Quest Builders 2 has a release date now. If you own the previous game on Switch, you will get unique content, including the Dragonlord's throne (neat). It's out July 12.
  • Star Wolf is coming to Starlink: Battle for Atlus in the Spring Update. This may be your only way to play Star Fox for sometime, so enjoy it.
  • Rune Factory 5 was confirmed to be under development. A remaster of Rune Factory 4 is also coming to Nintendo Switch.
  • Tokyo RPG Factory is making a new RPG called Oninaki, and it already looks like a big step up graphically from Lost Sphear and I Am Setsuna.
  • Tetris 99 is a new online multiplayer variant of Tetris that pits you against 99 other players in various challenges. Yes, We're still holding out for Tetris Effect.
  • Deltarune is confirmed for Nintendo Switch on February 28. Here's what we thought when it came out on other platforms late last year.
  • Daemon X Machina is getting a demo ahead of its release this summer. We called it a spiritual successor to Armored Core on Switch when it was revealed at E3 last year. The demo is out today.
  • Ninja Theory is now owned by Microsoft, but that's not stopping Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice from coming out on Switch this spring. It was one of our best games of 2017, so if you missed it the first time, yout should definitely check it out.
  • Final Fantasy 9 is now available on Nintendo Switch! In addition, Final Fantasy 7 will be out March 26, and Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy will be out March 20.

As usual, we'll have tons more coverage on Axe of the Blood God and the rest of our channels, so stay tuned for all of our reactions and analysis. In the meantime, Link's Awakening remaster, am I right?
