Nintendo Unveils Mario Kart AR and Super Mario Game & Watch for Super Mario's 35th Anniversary

Both are launching later this year.

Nintendo sure had a barrage of announcements earlier today to celebrate Super Mario's 35th anniversary later today. Among the blockbuster announcements like the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection, there's Mario Kart Live Home Circuit and Super Mario Bros. Game and Watch, both of which are launching later this year.

Firstly, Mario Kart Live Home Circuit puts you in an augmented reality version of your typical Mario Kart race. It's effectively a Mario Kart toy with a camera strapped on top, which all players can use with a Nintendo Switch to compete against each other with, racing through checkpoints set up around their living space. Mario Kart Live Home Circuit launches on October 18.

Next, on November 13, Nintendo will launch the Super Mario Bros. Game and Watch. This iteration of the Game and Watch handheld devices will star Mario in a full-color screen, playing the original Super mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels, and Game and Watch Ball, a Mario-centric remake of the original Game and Watch title.

Both these new additions are celebrating Super Mario's 35th anniversary later this year. There's the aforementioned Super Mario 3D All-Stars, which ties in remasters of Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario N64 in one package. Additionally, there's Super Mario Bros. 35, a Tetris 99-like game putting a battle royale spin on the classic Mario formula.
