Nintendo Will Be Showing More Nintendo Switch Indies Via Stream on Wednesday

The new home for indies gets a bit bigger this week.

This week marks the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, where developers come together to talk about the industry. With this focus on developers, Nintendo is carving out the time to showcase new work from independent devs. Nintendo has announced a Nindies Showcase this week, airing on March 20, 2019 at 9am PT/12pm ET.

The full show case will be 30 minutes in length, and likely will be an intense cavalcade of Nindies goodness. There was an indie showcase earlier this year that showed off Wargroove, Double Kick Heroes, Crosscode, and SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech.

With the PlayStation Vita long in its grave, the Nintendo Switch has become lucrative platform for indie devs. Nintendo previously said it was looking to release 20 to 30 indie games per week, and the ongoing rush of games on the eShop feels pretty close to that number. Indies have been jumping onto the platform for some time, especially since sales for the Switch version of their games tend to be much higher than other platforms.
