Nioh 2 Gets New Missions Today, New Difficulty Levels Later This Year

Team Ninja has big updates planned for their game.

Team Ninja has some pretty hefty updates planned for Nioh 2 over the coming months. In a new announcement today, the studio revealed that there are several DLC updates coming for the action-RPG, as well as a few additions to the game today.

Firstly, Team Ninja revealed through a post on the PlayStation Blog that photo mode is available right now in Nioh 2. Neither the original game or the sequel ever featured a photo mode, and from the looks of things on the PlayStation Blog, the feature looks pretty damn impressive.

Additionally, there are a total of nine new missions available for all Nioh 2 players today. These are all sub-missions/Twilight missions, and will be available alongside the photo mode in update version 1.09.

Finally, there'll be three total DLC packs added to Nioh 2 over the coming months. These include a brand new difficulty mode, new Yokai, new Guardian Spirits, new armor, and new endgame content to extend the already expansive game.

The first of these sizeable DLC packs is called Tengu's Wrath, which launches on July 30. It sounds like we'll actually be time-travelling to the late Heian period in Japan, to a place called Yashima to face off against new enemies and meet new allies in the brand new location.

Elsewhere, Team Ninja announced earlier today that Nioh 2 had sold over one million copies worldwide. This is since the game first launched relatively recently in March 2020, and Team Ninja celebrated the occasion by adding a fancy new golden armor outfit.
