No Man's Sky Gets a Free Spooky Update Next Week With "The Abyss"

In space no one can hear you get spooked.

Since the launch of No Man's Sky NEXT back in August Hello Games has been adding new updates at a regular clip. Next week Hello Games will release the first titled update since NEXT called "The Abyss" and it promises to be a little spooky.

Hello Games says The Abyss update will focus on the "eerier elements of No Man's Sky, in keep with the theme of this season." This season being Halloween so hopefully whatever we'll see in No Man's Sky will be unnerving even just a little bit.

Like previous titled updated No Man's Sky The Abyss will be free for players who already own No Man's Sky. There's no word yet on when the new update will drop next week, but if you've got No Man's Sky on your PC or console you should be good to go when it does.

No Man's Sky NEXT overhauled Hello Games' space exploration sim in a big way. Not only did the update add multiplayer and a more robust building system, but quality of life improvements, narrative streamlining, and a graphical overhaul saw No Man's Sky hit a new level of popularity and the highest player count since launch.
