A haunting vision of the future will be available at launch when the next console generation goes live. Observer: System Redux will be launching on the same day as the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S, and Series X.
For PC and Xbox Series S and Series X owners, Observer: System Redux will be out with the consoles on Nov. 10, 2020. PS5 will follow soon after with its own release date on Nov. 12, 2020. The easy shorthand is: the day the consoles are out is the day you can play.
Observer: System Redux is the next-gen upgrade of Observer, a cyberpunk horror-thriller from Bloober Team. It originally launched in 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but System Redux will be bringing the futuristic fear to the new slate of consoles with fancy features like 4K resolution and ray tracing, as well as some additional content.
Set in a cyberpunk future where Rutger Hauer is tracking down crime by hacking into brains, it certainly seems like it could be a neat technical display. And if you're hankering for Cyberpunk 2077 and don't have the patience to wait a week, it seems like Observer could fill that cyberpunk need pretty well. Bloober is also working on The Medium, another next-gen experience that looks like it has some good scares in store.
Observer: System Redux will come to next-gen consoles at launch for $29.99. Current PC owners won't be getting a free upgrade, though; there was a pre-purchase deal for current owners, but it seems that has run out as of this writing.
