Okami HD Confirmed for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC

No Nintendo Switch version announced, though. Womp-waaa.

Like the sun itself, Amaterasu is coming back around to shine on us once more. Okami HD is due on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC later this year.

Rumors about another HD release of Capcom's beautiful and beloved action-adventure game have been floating around for a little while, but confirmation has finally come into the light this morning. According to the latest issue of Famitsu (courtesy of Gematsu), Okami HD is scheduled for a December release in Japan. The new remake is physical and digital, it supports 4K, and it brings back the loading screen mini-games that were pulled out of the PlayStation 3 and Wii versions of the game.

"Great! But what about North America?" Fear not; according to the official PlayStation Twitter account, we'll get our chance to walk the dog on December 12. Not too surprising, as the original game (released in 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and the Wii in 2008) and the initial HD version of the game (2012 for the PlayStation 3) garnered a small but dedicated following outside Japan.

I missed out on the Okami hype the first (and second) time around, and it's high time I play with this puppy.

Just one more thing, Capcom. An Xbox One release in Japan, but no Nintendo Switch version at all? Seriously?
