One-Hit Wonders Rumbles on the Mean Streets of Metro City

The Super NES conversion of arcade brawler Final Fight plays host to the latest entry of our biweekly team challenge video series

One-Hit Wonders reaches its lucky seventh episode this week, with a follow-up to last episode's challenge. We've taken on Double Dragon; now we go mano a mano with its biggest rip-off, Capcom's Final Fight.

Specifically, we're taking on the Super NES conversion of Final Fight... which wasn't really the best adaptation, but definitely is the easiest to come by in this day and age. In case you've forgotten, what with the enormous gulf of time that sits between each biweekly installation of One-Hit Wonders and all, this series sees various members of the USgamer team taking a swing at various games both old and new to see who can make it the furthest without taking a single hit. And here are the results for your viewing pleasure:

As with the other recent episodes, this is less "one-hit" wonder and more "one-life," since it's awfully difficult to play Final Fight without taking a few punches. Such is the nature of brawlers. I think we started to drift a bit from the premise of this series back when we took on Mega Man 2, but fear not: Next episode will see us returning to the one-hit premise.

In the meantime, satisfy your curiosity about the notoriously cheap quarter-gobbler that was Final Fight. Is it indeed possible for any mortal to get past the first boss without succumbing to his copious cheese? And can anyone dethrone Kat from her ongoing run as One-Hit Wonders' big boss? Find out in this video!
