Blizzard Entertainment has released a new comic for Overwatch, called Uprising. The animated comic shows the heroes of Overwatch before their disbanding, dealing with the crisis of the King's Row Uprising. The comic illustrates Commander Jack Morrison's (also known as Soldier 76) struggle at staying out of a region of the world where Overwatch isn't meant to be. When a new recruit offers some some advice, Morrison finds his backbone.
There's a bunch of tiny lore tidbits in the comic, like Tracer getting one of her signature catchphrases from Torbjorn and Reaper's general shift away from following Soldier's orders, which will eventually lead to the conflict that ends Overwatch.
For fans looking beyond the lore, the comic gives a look at the Overwatch event coming April 11. It features Soldier 76, Reaper, and Ana in their original Overwatch looks, which are already in the game. This leads me to believe that the other looks detailed here (above and below) will be going into the game as new skins. There's training and Cadet Tracer, prototype Genji, and Mercy, Torbjorn, and Reinhardt in official Overwatch colors.
Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan also said that Widowmaker was getting a new skin for the event, so it's likely we'll see her in her pre-conditioning state as Amelie Lacroix.
