Overwatch Holiday Update Offers New Winter Wonderland Skins

Nutcracker Zenyatta, Santa Mei, and Reindeer Roadhog headline the new skins for Ovewatch's holiday update.

One of the best (or worst) parts of Overwatch are the absolutely amazing skins that are released during the themed holiday events. Already this year, Overwatch has played host to Olympic and Halloween-themed costumes for your favorite characters. Now Blizzard is coming out swinging with the new Winter Wonderland event, live right now and running until January 2.

The new seasonal event features new winter costumes for Lucio, McCree, Mei, Pharah, Reaper, Roadhog, Sombra, Torbjorn, Tracer, Winston and Zenyatta. There are some amazing standouts this season, like Nutcracker Zenyatta, Reindeer Roadhog, and Yeti Winston. There's also a host of new holiday win poses, taunts, logos, and sprays that can be collected from Winter Loot Boxes available during the event.

As always, players are guaranteed to get at least one Winter Wonderland item per box. I'd hold off on buying costumes until the event is almost over though. You don't want to get a costume you already have.

Blizzard Entertainment knows exactly what it is doing.

There are new winter versions of Hanamura and King's Row to play in. There's also a brand-new Brawl for the Winter Wonderland! Mei's Snowball Offensive is a 6v6 event where everyone plays Mei and her weapons has been altered to shoot a single massive snowball. One hit knocks an opponent out of the match, but a miss means you need to hide and reload! For the duration of the Brawl, Mei's Ultimate becomes a semi-automatic snowball launcher.

I've already gotten a festive start on not getting the costumes I want, so join me in glory and Overwatch!
