Persona 3 and 5 Dancing Games get December 2018 Release Date

Dancing in Moonlight and Dancing in Starlight are shimmying to consoles this year.

While the Persona 3 and 5 dancing games were originally slated for release in early 2019, Atlus today announced that both titles will release this year instead. Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight will be coming to PS4 and PS Vita on December 4.

The announcement came today from Atlus, and you can see the reveal tweet from the official Atlus Twitter account just below. The 'Endless Night' collection, featuring both games as well as Persona 4: Dancing all Night, will be releasing at a premium price tag, which hasn't been confirmed right now.

While Persona 4: Dancing all Night featured a story mode, both the new dancing titles will not. Instead, you experience social interactions with the cast members of Persona 3 or Persona 5, as you attempt to dance your way to success, pleasing an audience along the way.

However, it appears as though the only way you can obtain Persona 4: Dancing all Night on the PS4 is to purchase the Endless Night edition which, as we mentioned earlier, will retail above the standard price point of $60. Both Persona 3 and 5 dancing games will retail on their own for $60 each.

Thank the Twelve that there's no story mode. The story of Persona is starting to reach Kingdom Hearts levels of convolution. I have no problem with spin off games where you can have a great time; there's no need to find a way to awkwardly force a spin off game to be canon. Can't we just have fun dancing all night after all?

And Atlus join NISA in the no physical for Vita club this year, disappointing (and this is well before the end of production deadline). And then the cheapness in making the PS4 P4:DAN digital only in a premium package where you would expect all three ganes to be physical.

I enjoyed DAN but won't be purchasing Vita digitally and not sure I would play them on TV on PS4.

According to what I read on Persona Central (which I would assume came from Atlus itself), the "Endless Night" package for PS4 will retail at $99.99. GameStop's listing is up, and reflects this pricing. In other words, you're getting the two new games at $10 discounts, and the digital copy of P4D is effectively free.

The pricing for the Vita bundle (digital, it seems) containing only the two new games was reported as $69.99.
