Phantasy Star Online 2 Heads West on Xbox One in Spring 2020
Sega answers fans prayers with a Western release.
Phantasy Star Online 2 first released in Japan way back in 2012. It launched on PC, but since then it has released on PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. Only problem is all these versions have been Japan-only. There is a very passionate community that has been desperately waiting for Phantasy Star Online to come back to Western shores.
Now Sega is finally ready to deliver. Today during the Microsoft Xbox E3 press event, Sega announced that Phantasy Star Online 2 will be coming to Xbox One worldwide in Spring 2020. Around the world, there are a thousand hearts crying out in joy.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer made a huge deal about PSO2's launch being only Xbox One-exclusive on consoles. Sorry, PlayStation 4 fans in the West. The trailer did note that the game will be coming to PC as well, marking a Western release eight years after launch.
